Lucas comes to town

After roughly 2 years in Edinburgh, Lucas decided it was time to come home for a visit and amuse us all with his recently-aquired preppy little accent. Although it was a fleeting visit, it was packed full of good laughs, great food and wine, some excellent company and lots of reminiscing. We love you Lucas.

Finally, "evil" Lucas makes his appearance:

We are secksy beetches...

George & Leisa's Housewarming

George and Leisa had considered various fancy dress themes for their housewarming and eventually decided not to bother - opting for a casual backyard bbq instead.

Never ones to shy away from fancy dress, Joel and Burdo decided to throw caution (...and dignity...and good taste) to the wind and go in cosutme anyway.

NB: For those of you who assume Burdo is just a plain ol' sicko, I should clarify that he was Mr Orange from Resevoir Dogs (which explains the heavily blood-stained shirt).

Well, AND he's a plain ol' sicko but that wasn't part of the costume.

The O.P. Rum spider (don't knock it til you've tried it):

The exercise bike challenge. Let me tell you that seeing
someone cycle that fast while wearing so much polyester
was more than a little worrying. So much friction.

Ambiwerra

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but Stu and Bish do appear
to be dancing in sync (or is that N*sync?) with each other...

Nanna Lucht turns 102

Today is my great-grand-mother's 102nd birthday.

Yup, one-HUNDRED-and-two years old.

She still lives in her own home in Toowoomba and takes care of herself, apart from the occasional visit from the good people at meals-on-wheels. She is as sharp as a tack, enjoys the odd glass of port and doesn't mind a feed of KFC.

And just quietly, rumour has it, she once said "f-ck". But she was very angry at the time and despite the fact that reports of the F-bomb spread like wildfire through the extended family, she would be horrified if anyone knew. So officially, it's only a rumour.

She's my mum's mum's mum so maybe I got me some of those longevity genes. I guess we'll see.

Anyway, here she is a whole two years ago at the spry age of 100:

That's her on the left.

Joel's Birthday and the Bledisloe (Part I)

Dave put on an awesome spread - complete with big screen - for a the first game of the Bledisloe. After plenty of food and plenty of footy, a dedicated few pressed on to the RE where we saw in Joel's birthday in remarkable style. So remarkable, in fact, that we got kicked out five minutes before closing time, when a touching show of amorous manlove saw three bright-yellow-jersey-clad men star fished on the ground in the beer garden. Ahhhh, good times. Happy Birthday (angelina)JOEL(ie).
